BASS JUNKYZ TEAM EVENTS
The introduction of a multi-circuit championship forces anglers to be more selective in our small market. After the announcement, I received calls questioning the exclusion of Bass Junkyz. Anglers will make decisions based on opportunity and cost, and a $20,000 prize is undeniably attractive. Arizona might be a smaller market, a pond in the grand scheme of the fishing landscape, but Bass Junkyz offers a competitive product with solid contingencies, fair payouts, and consistent enforcement of rules. Over the years, we’ve delivered exceptional events and championships, with the last two featuring a strong sponsor presence, loaded angler bags, and banquets.
That said, the Team Qualifiers for the 2024-2025 season are postponed as Bass Junkyz reorganizes. This decision comes from listening to the Voice of the Customer (VOC). Anglers have made it clear: they love Bass Junkyz’s setup, but they want the chance to qualify for a $20,000 championship. Many cannot afford the time or money to fish three circuits. Based on this feedback and forecasting a participation field reduced to a forecasted 17-20 boats, it simply doesn’t make financial sense to continue with the qualifiers with the current asset structure.
With a new course, Bass Junkyz will host two open events in 2025—one in March 2025 (TBD), and one in September 2025 at Martinez. 2026 Bass Junkyz will resume Team Qualifier operations with new sponsors, products, and contigencies. Additionally, our 2024 kayak platform will continue to be a priority, and Bass Junkyz will move forward with the same focus and commitment demonstrated over the years.
